USNS Mercy to Set Sail for Pacific Partnership 2010

Here is another link to a great article on what will shortly be happening with this year's Pacific Partnership project:

USNS Mercy to Set Sail for Pacific Partnership 2010

Excerpt from the article:

"Mercy, as the lead vessel, is scheduled to visit Vietnam, Cambodia, Indonesia and Timor-Leste. The medical treatment facility or hospital includes multiple operating rooms, sophisticated X-ray capabilities and more than 500 volunteer and military staff. "

I'll be flying into Singapore and joining the team on Mercy in July. I've been quite busy collecting supplies, getting a physical, vaccines, passport, etc. I was reading up on Singapore last night. It's a good thing I don't smoke or use any kind of illegal drugs! They do spot urine checks for drugs... the guilty can be punished by death! Yikes! Even chewing gum is illegal... have no idea why. It looks like a beautiful city and something I never knew is that the primary language is English. Cool!

Of course, I will only be there long enough to transfer to the ship and head to our first Indonesian assignment!
